Step 1: Measurement The height of the installation from the ground is crucial for your dog's comfort using the door. We recommend starting the opening 2 - 2.5" below your dog's chest. Measure from the ground to the bottom of your dog's chest, then subtract 2.5" to determine the bottom of your opening.

Step 2: Cutting Your Opening Cut the rough opening in your mounting surface according to the size of your specific door: - Small Heavy Duty Dog Door and Small Easy Dog Door (9 5/8" x 14 1/2") - Heavy Duty Dog Door and Easy Dog Door (13 1/4" x 18 1/4") - Big Dog Door and Easy Big Dog Door (18 1/4" x 26 1/4")

Step 3: PVC Trim Use caulking or silicone to seal between the PVC kit and mounting surface. The PVC kit includes 2 pieces, with the narrower piece installed on the outside for fastening the door, and the larger piece on the interior for attaching the drop-down closure.

Step 4: Door and Drop Down Install Fit the dog door over the narrower piece of the PVC kit, ensuring the entire opening is covered. Use the included screws to fasten the door.
